This year Lost 40 felt like building a city of dreams. For a few days we lived in a community of music, art, fire, and friendship — but it was built on something deeper: the everyday hard work of people who wake up early, hold down jobs, provide for their families, and make sacrifices so they can be part of something bigger.
We’re endlessly grateful for everyone who showed up — the artists who spent countless hours perfecting their craft, the volunteers who carried the load, and each of you who worked, saved, and brought your energy to the circle. Lost 40 exists because of all of us together. 🌲✨🔥
We also want to honor Jack McGowan — at 87 years old, he still drove his skid loader, hauled firewood, and sat with us at Dinner Circle every night. His farm has been a magical home for us, and though the land is changing management, his words will always stay with us: “I wish I could have had you all 30 years ago.” 💚
At Dinner Circle, when we pass the stick, we honor that each voice is part of the story. Years from now, people will say: “I used to go to Lost 40 when it was at Jack McGowan’s Farm.” That was where we became friends, where we became family, and where Lost 40 began to grow into something sustainable.

As we look to the future, we’re in conversations with several venues — and yes, Jack’s farm may still be a possibility. Wherever we gather, Lost 40 is more than a place. It’s all of us, wherever we stand together.
If you have ideas or dreams for where we should go next, email us at Lost40musicfestival@gmail.com. Together, we’ll build the next chapter.
